  • Jamaica defeated the USA for the first time ever Friday night in Kingston, winning by a 2-1 scoreline. Rudolph Austin and Luton Shelton scored free-kick goals to counter Clint Dempsey's first-minute strike.
  • After three games in Group A, Jamaica is on top with seven points, followed by the USA and Guatemala with four, and Antigua & Barbuda on one point. The top two in the group advance to the Hexagonal.
  • Jurgen Klinsmann has said Carlos Bocanegra and Steve Cherundolo will be back in the lineup after missing out Friday with rust and an injury respectively. Clarence Goodson is suspended through yellow-card accumulation.
  • The U.S. is 10-1-8 all-time against Jamaica, scoring 32 goals while allowing 12, including a 8-0-3 record at home.
  • After scoring in Friday's game, Clint Dempsey has now scored in three straight World Cup qualifiers.
  • Geoff Cameron, Brek Shea and Danny Williams all made their first appearances in a World Cup qualifier during Friday's match.
  • Following the match, the USA will have two games remaining in this round of World Cup qualifying: Oct. 12 at Antigua & Barbuda and Oct. 16 hosting Guatemala in Kansas City.
