Silva snub: Manchester City midfielder is concentrating on holiday rather than Real Madrid move
Manchester City and Spain midfielder David Silva has denied to a Spanish radio station that he will be moving to Real Madrid.
When asked about the link by a local station, the Gran Canaria native stated, "I've just started my holidays and I am only thinking about relaxing".
There have been increasing rumours from the Bernabeu that Jose Mourinho would be making a move for the La Roja wideman, and despite his form tailing off at Manchester City towards the end of last season, the former Valencia man had a sublime European Championships, capping it off by scoring the first goal in their 4-0 final win against Italy.
Back home in the Canary Islands and speaking to local station Radio La AutonĂ³mica, Silva also answered a question about his favourite moment of this year's European Championships experience:
"It is living together for a month and a half, with times when you are more happy and others more sad, I can't name just one single moment."
Silva also said that being a professional footballer was "only ever a dream" but he was very proud of his roots and that he "always tries to demonstrate my status as a Canarian, and moreso in moments of celebration."
